Arlie Sinaiko was born in Kapule, Russia in 1902, but later immigrated to the United States, and eventually became a citizen. He attended art school at the Chicago Art Institute, and the Art Students League in New York. His sculptures can be viewed at many museums throughout the United States, such as The Chrysler Art Museum at Provincetown, Massachusetts, the Denver Art Museum in Colorado, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In 1969, Sinaiko commented, “I am basically a wood carver, all of my sculpture has been carved out of one piece of wood. From this, a plaster cast is made, which is then sent to Italy where the casting in bronze is done. I do the patina myself.”
