A professor of art at the University of Michigan from the late 1980s through 2004, Curtis Rhodes works in a variety of media, including printmaking, painting, drawing, and mixed media works. While working primarily in the Midwest and Arizona, he has traveled extensively and describes himself as a "dreamer of places." His work is inspired by references to many cultures, ancient and contemporary, and by his journeys - both real and imaginary.
