Abe Ajay created in constructions and collages throughout his forty-year career. In 1967, Ajay designed a unique vocabulary of modular sculptural forms cast in white polyester resin, which, in various guises, plays a predominant role in his work. The modules initially appeared boxed and covered with tinted glass, then were coupled with colored canvas panels in a series of relief paintings. Untitled Consruction #392 is an example of his later work, which still draws upon his earlier resin sculptures, but incorporates other media like wire and wood.
