In 1925, Brett Weston moved to Mexico with his father Edward Weston, also a photographer. Here, the thirteen year old became his father's apprentice and was introduced to a series of modernist painters which unquestionably influenced his sense of form and composition. He appreciated how the camera transformed the contrast of black and white into near abstraction.
