Claes Oldenburg, a leading figure in the Pop Art movement of the late 1950s and early 1960s, is most well known for turning the mundane, average, and small into monumental sculptures. Geometric Mouse-Scale C, inspired by the cartoon character, Mickey Mouse, is a study for an outdoor sculpture that was eventually created in multiple variations of size, scale, and color.
