In 1982, during his time at the Fachhochschule in Hanover, Klaus Duschat formed ODIOUS along with five of his peers. This organization, the first of its kind, was composed of only sculptors, who worked together for many years in a community studio in Berlin and exhibited their works together frequently. All six of these artists work primarily in steel to create large-scale abstract compositions. In fact, Duschat’s Scetch I is a study for a much larger outdoor sculpture.
