In this work, artist Keith Long collected driftwood, and then carved around the edges to make them interconnect. While the carved aspect of this work is minimal, it is essential to the final product. In the year that this work was created, Long was focused on bringing together different shapes and textures in his art. Here, Long used driftwood to create an abstracted angel shape in hopes of eliciting an emotional response from viewers.
