Exploring ideas of the self and the relationships between people, specifically women, Ann Wolff delves into the complex and layered nature of life with this work. To achieve the finished product, Wolff painted individual pieces of glass before layering them, placing the fragments of plate glass in such a way as to invite the viewer to look more deeply. Instead of creating a traditional stained-glass window that depicts a story, the artist depicts two faces in swirling bands of color that defy any specific narrative.
