Williamston artist, Mark Chatterley is most known for his rough textured human forms. Each work is hand built with slabs, rings, or rough chunks of clay. Chatterley uses his own formulation of clay and builds the object from the ground up 6 to 8 inches at a time. He uses around 18,000 pounds of clay per year. Chatterley uses a cater glaze that creates a pockmarked surface across the forms when fired.
