William Kidd takes most of his inspiration directly from nature. And though his muse is clearly evident in his work, he does not wish to emulate any specific animal or lifeform, but rather somthing that might live in some other world. His works resemble sea creatures, seeds, spores, and plants and are glazed or painted with vivid colors. The main shape is created on the wheel and other elements, like spikes or tubes, are added by hand. Colorful or textured glazes are used as a finishing touch.
