Childe Hassam, painter and printmaker, was one of the foremost exponents of French Impressionism in American art. Hassam studied in Boston, MA and Paris, France, where he was influenced. He returned to New York, and became a member of “The Ten”. He is known for his landscapes and New York City scenes.
